Robots that vacuum and clean offer the convenience of cleaning dry debris and wet mess in one time, without having to switch between devices. They can also save storage space compared to having two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will have impressive navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models with docks that let them automatically empty their bins, fill their water tanks and wash the mopping pads.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It's one of the simplest robots to set up that we've tested. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and the quick-start guide will get you running with a clean and complete dust bag, floor solution for hard floors and water tank in a matter of minutes.
The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can vacuum and mop well. The mops spin at high speed and use 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to take away pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum comes with four power modes, a range of attachments and brushes, and an intuitive app that lets you select the exact kind of cleaning you'd like to have for each room.
For instance, you can request the robot to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly, but leave the bedroom in its own space. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors as well as smart navigation technology. It is able to detect small obstacles that other models can't. Its only minor issue is that it tends to crash into walls and objects at full speed. The mop can run for 184 minutes in Quiet Mode and the vacuum can last for 136 minutes in normal mode, prior to having to recharge or returning to the base. You can view the entire cleaning information in the app, which is intuitively laid out and is easy to comprehend although we would like to be able distinguish between a vacuum and mop and vacuum clean when examining a cleaned area in the history of cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's flagship robot mop and vacuum. Unlike last year's model it comes with a double agitator in its mopping pad, which significantly improves its carpet cleaning capabilities. It's the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed but it's also the most packed with features. Its sleek angular design is eye catching and only has three physical buttons. The power button, which restarts the cleaning, a mop button that doubles as a child lock and a home-button that can bring the robot to its dock. The hinged lid can be opened to reveal a 350ml dustbin as well as a 200ml of water tank. The water tank automatically emptys and the bin auto-refills.
The only drawback I could find in this model was the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't movable. While you can replace the mopping cloth (if needed) but it's a challenge to take off the mount to wash it manually. I've observed that any soft carpet the robot crosses will come into contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, which could cause scratches.

You can configure and manage these via the Roborock app which is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app allows you to schedule cleanings and monitor battery life. You'll need to go through a few steps to enable voice control on this model. This is a shame considering how well-performing it is otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is a market leader with its innovative features, top suction power and cutting-edge mopping capabilities. Its innovative design allows for personalized and efficient cleaning, while also saving time.
The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first one to provide 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is one of the most powerful choices available. This powerful vacuum can clean up the dry mess, which includes pet hair and crumbs. It also comes with a top-quality mop that leaves floors sparkling clean, even without a wet pad. Additionally the X40 is extremely quiet during operation, only producing occasional squeaks of sound when switching between modes or performing self-maintenance tasks.
The X40 has a side brush that can be extended and lifted. This lets it reach into corners that are difficult to reach and clean furniture that is curved like chairs and table legs. It also lets the robot to access furniture with a low profile, making it a great option for apartments or condos with tight spaces. The side brush automatically tilts down when detecting wet spots. This is a nice addition that assists the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors by repeated back-andforth movements.
Unlike other robots, which are limited to one task, the X40 can mop and vacuum simultaneously. It can be programmed to only mop the hard floors, and skip carpeted areas, and reverse the process. It can be controlled by the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operations.
The app is simple to use and intuitive and the X40 has many smart features that are simple to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times. It can also be adjusted to adjust suction power, alter modes, look at floor plans and maps and control mopping settings. The X40 can also monitor its progress and notify you when it's done.

The docking station automatically empty the dustbin, and clean the mop pads and refill them with fresh cleaning solution and water. It also can detect the moment when the mop pad has reached its maximum capacity and alert you to the situation before it spills.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available. It does have several characteristics that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub, which is a new feature of its mop heads, makes use of two high-speed mop heads to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a suction force of 7,000Pa. This is more than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also remove pet hair, dirt particles and remove spills and soiled spots.
The mop is also cleaned and dried inside the base station after each use. This is beneficial because it stops mould and unpleasant odours that can build up in storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature we haven't seen on other robot mop or vacuum models. It could be a great way to keep your home clean longer.
There's a plethora of settings available which include the possibility to schedule cleaning appointments and alter a variety of preferences. These can be set via the app or there are buttons on the unit itself. The app is simple to use and provides a variety of options for customizing the cleaning routine. Additionally, there are a lot of features that other robots don't include, for instance, the Clean Genius mode that automatically boosts suction power when it detects dust particles, rather than using an individual setting.
The L20 Ultra has a stylish design with a white-and-metallic finish that looks elegant and sophisticated. It's a bit heavier at 4kg than the other robots on this listing, but it's still not excessively heavy. It feels solid and well-constructed. The mopping system is also well designed and the double-rotating mop is great for hard floors or in corners. They can also reach down to 2mm of baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature, which is a nice addition.
